The bridesmaids, Miss Lily White and Miss Alma Chivers carried similar bouquets and were dressed in Turquoise Blue crepe-de-chine and Apricot crepe-de-chine respectively. Both wore black crinoline hats. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom’s parents where many useful presents testified to the popularity of the happy couple. Collapsed in a Field – Old Age Pensioner’s Death from Cerebral Haemorrhage

Verdict of death from cerebral haemorrhage was recorded by Mr. M. Pulliblank (Coroner for North Somerset), at an inquest he conducted without a jury, at Hazeldene Farm, Clutton, on Monday afternoon respecting the death of Gideon Charles Parfitt, an old age pensioner, 77 years of age, of 21 Maynard Terrace, Clutton.

The inquiry was held at the residence of a son of the deceased Charles Gideon Parfitt, who stated his father was in the habit of coming to his farm in the afternoons, and helping to do a few odd jobs, such as assisting to feed the cattle and milking.

The deceased came to his farm on November 1st and during the afternoon, an evacuee came and informed witness there was a man lying down by the entrance to one of his fields. Witness proceeded to the spot, and discovered it was his father. With assistance he got him into the farm, made him comfortable, and sent for Dr. Vaughan.

Dr. F. D. Vaughan said when he arrived he could only pronounce life extinct. He gave it as his opinion that death was due to cerebral haemorrhage, and, as stated, the Coroner recorded a verdict accordingly, and expressed his sympathy with the family. Police Sergt. Baker was the Coroner’s Officer.
