1920 Auction of the Earl of Warwick’s land and properties – W. Ettle (Rent 5s 1d per week). Lot No. 98 comprising of Nos. 29, 30, 31 and 32 Maynard Terrace.
Fifty six cottages in Maynard Terrace were lotted in groups of three, four, and five but as there were no offers the auction closed and negotiations took place privately for the houses. Several of them together with some of the other lots were withdrawn, were disposed of, and negotiations are proceeding in regard to the others. Ettle. On September 5th, at 31 Maynard Terrace, Julia, the beloved wife of Walter Ettle, who passed peacefully away at the age of 55.

Late Mrs. Olive Ettle – Funeral Service at St. Augustine’s Church
The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon of Mrs. Olive Ettle, of Maynard Terrace, Clutton, who died at the a of 48, after a long and painful illness, leaving a husband and two sons to whom much sympathy has been extended.
Mrs. Ettle, of a quiet and sincere disposition, made many friends by her many and thoughts for others, and was, for some time, employed in the canteen of Messrs. Parnall Aircraft Factory at
Temple Cloud during the war.
There was a large assembly at her funeral, which took place at the church of St. Augustine, the service being conducted by the rector the Rev. D. V. Galloway, who read the committal lines at the graveside.

Contravened “No Waiting” Order
A number of motorists who came to Wells on Christmas shopping expeditions and left their cars in High Street, found a police officer waiting for them when they returned to their cars. They were summoned at the Petty Sessions on Wednesday for contravening the “No Waiting” Order in High Street
A £1 fine was also imposed on Lewis Stanley Dagger, Maynard Terrace, Clutton, who wrote that he was not acquainted with the city and seeing other cars parked near Frisby’s shop he left his car there.

Bernard Baber, of Clutton, aged 6, painted a picture entitled, "The Cow in the Field." It has been selected for the National Exhibition of Children's Art at the Royal Institute Galleries, London, next month.
Bernard is the only child of Mr. and um. D. Baber of 31, Maynard Terrace and his picture among 372 selected from a total of 37,000 sent in.
The picture sent from Clutton Primary School where Bernard is a pupil, and his parents knew very little about it.
Playing with torch batteries, wire and bulbs when I saw him. Bernard Aid. "I only paint when I feel like it. I would rather play with electric." He could remember very little about this particular painting.
"I think I put some horns on it." He said.
Mrs. Baber commented: "We know very little about it, for it was his teacher at school who
sent in the exhibit."
