Anthony George Ettle (19), printer, of 4, Maynard Terrace, Clutton, who suffered severe injuries in a road accident on Sept. 2, was at Temple Cloud magistrates’ court on Wednesday, fined £l and had to pay £3 towards costs of £5 3s. 8d., for driving his motor-cycle without due care and attention. His

Prosecuting, Insp. D. Greenfield alleged that Ettle overtook two of his friends who were also riding motor-cycles and then negotiated a bend near a railway bridge at a fast speed on his side the road
and was in collision with a car. The accident occurred at Marsh Lane, between Clutton and Hallatrow.
“All I could do was to get in far as I could and stop." said the car driver, Mr. J. P. Stradling. of Savoy Road, Brislington, Bristol, who said Ettle’s machine struck his car and then rebounded across the road.
Ettle’s injuries included a compound fracture of the right leg, and his mother told the court that her son's leg still in plaster.
