Gwen and I (Alan Gray) have lived at 42 Maynard Terrace since 1987 and I have walked my dogs along the track, leading to Greyfield Wood, twice a day.
I started thinking about the miners who also walked the track and what a hard life they led.
I have compiled a book detailing everyone who has lived in Maynard from the 1901, 1911 and 1921 Census, 1939 Register and Electoral Rolls. Also relevant Newspaper Reports and other information has been added. The 1911 Census specifies the Number of Rooms in this dwelling – Count the Kitchen as one room but do not count scullery, landing, lobby, closet, bathroom) nor warehouse, office, shop.
The book lists the occupants from 1900 until 2023, however, to abide by the Data Protection Act the date range on the website is from 1900 until 1975. A > symbol indicates that the family lived in the house past the 1975 cut-off.
